SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Rodger D. O'Kane of Rock Island, who
4passed away on April 15, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rodger O'Kane was born to Ike and Joyce (Hicks)
6O'Kane in Douglas, Michigan on December 17, 1954; he married
7Delia Abadilla in Pullman, Michigan on June 11, 1977; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Rodger O'Kane worked for the U.S. Navy as Chief
9Gunners Mate; he retired from the military after 20 years of
10service; he then worked for Oscar Mayer in Davenport and
11retired in 2017; and
 
12    WHEREAS, While in the Navy, Rodger O'Kane received the
13Navy Achievement Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, and many
14other decorations for his service; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Rodger O'Kane enjoyed building model cars,
16cooking, watching movies, listening to 70s music, and, most of
17all, spending time with his family; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Rodger O'Kane was preceded in death by his
19parents; his brother, Robert O'Kane; his sister, Kathy
20Willingham; and his son-in-law, Jason R. Christenson; and

1    WHEREAS, Rodger O'Kane is survived by his wife, Delia; his
2daughter, Cheryl Christenson; his grandchildren, Lindsay
3(Tyler) White, Alexandria Mumma, Jason S. Christenson, and
4Haley Christenson; and his siblings, Patsy (Junior) Ramsey,
5Douglas O'Kane, and Danny O'Kane; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Rodger D. O'Kane and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Rodger O'Kane as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
