2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Judith "Judie" Chaboude of Saint | ||||||
4 | Charles, Missouri on December 27, 2021; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Judie Chaboude was born in Cape Girardeau, | ||||||
6 | Missouri to Hazel Marie Perry and Lewis Leonard Wood on | ||||||
7 | November 10, 1941; she attended Granite City High School and | ||||||
8 | married Fred Willis; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Judie Chaboude operated a birthday and wedding | ||||||
10 | cake business, Judie's Cakes, in Granite City for over 20 | ||||||
11 | years; she also was partner and bookkeeper for her husband's | ||||||
12 | business, Cee's Construction Company, until retiring in 2004; | ||||||
13 | and | ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Judie Chaboude was active in the Scottish | ||||||
15 | community and was the founder and president of the Scottish | ||||||
16 | Tartan Day festival and parade in St. Charles, Missouri for | ||||||
17 | several years; she served as the historian for the St. Andrew | ||||||
18 | Society from 1998 to 2004 and as ceremony organizer in the | ||||||
19 | Military Order of the Knights Templar of Jerusalem starting in | ||||||
20 | 1998; she also was active in the Christmas Traditions | ||||||
21 | celebrations on Main Street in St. Charles, caroling and | ||||||
22 | organizing the Progressive Dinners; and |

1 | WHEREAS, Judie Chaboude's hobbies were sewing, painting, | ||||||
2 | baking, and jigsaw puzzles; she was happiest when her children | ||||||
3 | would gather to laugh, sing, and play musical instruments; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Judie Chaboude was reunited with a high school | ||||||
5 | classmate and friend, Geoffrey Glen Chaboude, at a high school | ||||||
6 | class reunion; they married in October of 1991 and were | ||||||
7 | married for 30 years; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Judie Chaboude was preceded in death by her | ||||||
9 | parents and her first husband of over 30 years, Fred Willis; | ||||||
10 | and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Judie Chaboude was mother to Tamera (Reda) | ||||||
12 | Iskarous, Brian Fred (Tracy) Willis, and Michelle Rae (Gary) | ||||||
13 | Ingrham; grandmother of ten and great-grandmother of ten; and | ||||||
14 | sister to John (Sue) Perry and Linda "Jodie" Wood; therefore, | ||||||
15 | be it

16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
18 | Judith "Judie" Chaboude and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
19 | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
20 | further

21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
