SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Margaret M. Birmingham, who died
4peacefully in her Melrose Park home on December 12, 2021 at the
5age of 82; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham was raised in Crystal Lake by
7her parents George Flynn and Marge Flynn; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham attended Sienna High School,
9where several classmates became her lifelong friends; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham had a deep love for travel
11and saw many places, but one of her favorite spots in all the
12world was sitting on the pier in front of her parents' home in
13Crystal Lake; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham married her husband Bill
15Birmingham in September of 1963; they would be married for 25
16years until his passing; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham was an avid golfer and hiker
18and loved all things related to sports; she was a lifelong
19Chicago Cubs fan, cheered the Chicago Bears, and tuned into
20every Notre Dame football game; she was an avid reader,

1theater attendee, and movie goer; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham was preceded in death by her
3parents, George Flynn and Marge Flynn; her husband, Bill
4Birmingham; and her siblings, George Flynn and Barbara Flynn;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham is survived by her children,
7Bill (Jane) Birmingham, Kathy (Chuck) Meyer, and Megan (Rich)
8Sebanc; her grandchildren, Nick, Bridget, Matthew, David,
9Mark, Jack, Clare, Brenna, Chloe, and Erin; her
10great-granddaughter, Ava; her sisters, Kathy (Bill) Norris and
11Maureen Holman; her nieces and nephews; and her great-nieces
12and nephews; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Margaret M. Birmingham and extend our sincere condolences to
16her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Margaret Birmingham as an
20expression of our deepest sympathy.
