2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the passing of Greg White, who passed away on July |
4 | | 17, 2021 at the age of 68; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Greg White was born on October 4, 1952 to loving |
6 | | parents Miles and Helen White; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Greg White was the brother of Denise (George) |
8 | | Carfagnini, John (Evelyn) White, and the late Fr. Myles White; |
9 | | and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Greg White dedicated himself to educating young |
11 | | minds as a teacher at St. Francis Borgia in Chicago, a position |
12 | | he held for 40 years; and |
13 | | WHEREAS, In 1987, Greg White was appointed deputy clerk of |
14 | | Oak Park Township and served in the role for 10 years; in 1997, |
15 | | he was elected town clerk and was re-elected to the office for |
16 | | 24 consecutive years; and |
17 | | WHEREAS, As a member of the Oak Park Township Board of |
18 | | Trustees, Greg White was the clockwork of the township, |
19 | | keeping track of the past, present, and future; as keeper of |
20 | | the official records and history for the township, he valued |

1 | | transparency and efficiency; as the township moved through |
2 | | each annual cycle, he kept up with the rhythm of levies, |
3 | | budgets, audits, and other processes; and
|
4 | | WHEREAS, Greg White was an advocate for township services, |
5 | | recognizing and supporting the critical needs worthy of the |
6 | | township's professional and attentive care; serving with him |
7 | | and sharing friendships was a privilege and an honor; the |
8 | | values, ideals, and goals in which he believed and supported |
9 | | are and will always be his most honored legacy; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Above all, Greg White was loyal, consistent, and |
11 | | committed; he believed in the work and value of the township; |
12 | | whether it was keeping records organized and available to the |
13 | | public, making sure that elections ran smoothly, or being |
14 | | present at the board table or at any township or community |
15 | | events, he rarely missed any opportunity to be of service to |
16 | | his community; his presence and dedication will be missed by |
17 | | all of those at the Township and in the community; therefore, |
18 | | be it

19 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
20 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
21 | | Greg White and extend our sincere condolences to his family, |
22 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
