2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of James T. "Jim" Wood of Fulton, who |
4 | | passed away on February 16, 2022; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Jim Wood was born to Edward and Agatha (Schell) |
6 | | Wood in Moline on June 28, 1942; he graduated from Alleman High |
7 | | School in 1960; he was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he |
8 | | served on a tour in Vietnam between 1964 and 1966; he married |
9 | | Nora on April 8, 1976; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Jim Wood retired in 2002 from the International |
11 | | Union of Operating Engineers Local Union 150 after 36 years of |
12 | | active service; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Jim Wood was a hardworking family man who always |
14 | | provided for and was there for his family; he most loved |
15 | | attending family gatherings, grandchildren's events, and game |
16 | | nights and spending time with family while fishing, watching |
17 | | sports, and working on classic Mustangs; he enjoyed |
18 | | woodworking and spending time around the barn; he will be |
19 | | remembered for his great stories and the nature walks he took |
20 | | with his grandchildren; and
|
21 | | WHEREAS, Jim Wood was preceded in death by his wife, Nora; |

1 | | his parents; and his siblings, Katie, Joseph, and Edward; and
|
2 | | WHEREAS, Jim Wood is survived by his daughters, Dana |
3 | | (William) Barnett-Owens and Bridget (Kevin) McRae-Kurtz; his |
4 | | sons, Christopher (Andrea) Barnett, Patrick Wood, and James |
5 | | Wood; his sisters, Barbara Schell, Judy Hansen, Mary Bayless, |
6 | | Theresa Paulsen, and Patricia (Michael) Sheil; his |
7 | | grandchildren, Katie (Adam) Hoagland, Alyssa (Joseph) Fisher, |
8 | | Brianna (Doug) Chidester, Larson Barnett, Connor Barnett, |
9 | | Alexander Owens, Abigail Owens, Anna Kurtz, Brady Kurtz, and |
10 | | Natalie Wood; and his great-grandchildren, Colton Hoagland and |
11 | | Kennedy Fisher; therefore, be it

12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
14 | | James T. "Jim" Wood and extend our sincere condolences to his |
15 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
16 | | further

17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
18 | | presented to the family of Jim Wood as an expression of our |
19 | | deepest sympathy.
