SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Joseph Hugh Westerdale of Moline, who
4passed away on February 11, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joseph Westerdale was born to Ralph and Mary
6(McHugh) Westerdale in Galesburg on September 12, 1936; he
7married Sally Tanner, and they later divorced; he married
8Susan Holman in Moline on October 11, 1970; he served in the
9U.S. Navy on active duty for three years and then served in the
10Navy Reserves with the Seabees, retiring in 1994; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Joseph Westerdale worked for Case IH for 20 years
12as a machinist and fork lift driver; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Joseph Westerdale was a lifetime member of the
14Seabees Veterans Association and a member of Memorial
15Christian Church of Moline, VFW of Moline, the Lake Davenport
16Sailing Club, and the Mississippi Valley Country Dance
17Association; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Joseph Westerdale enjoyed sailing, woodworking,
19and music; he played the piano and had been in several area
20bands; and

1    WHEREAS, Joseph Westerdale was preceded in death by his
2siblings, John Westerdale and Georgeann Nelson; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Joseph Westerdale is survived by his wife of 51
4years, Susan; his six children, Dan (Karen) Westerdale, Debbie
5(Scott) McPherson, Pamela (Robert Lee) Westerdale, Laurie
6(Steven) Sherman, Michelle Westerdale, and James (Lauren)
7Westerdale; and his 12 grandchildren, Marcie, Mannie, and
8Clayton McPherson, Robert, Sara, and Nathan Lee, Immanuel,
9Avrom, and Matthew Bailey, and Allison, Hannah, and Joey
10Westerdale; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Joseph Hugh Westerdale and extend our sincere condolences to
14his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Joseph Westerdale as an expression
18of our deepest sympathy.
