2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Ryan Masi, who passed away on |
4 | | September 19, 2021 at the age of 25; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Ryan Masi was born to Grace and Christopher Masi |
6 | | in Oak Park on August 10, 1996; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Ryan Masi attended Fenwick High School, where he |
8 | | was an Illinois State Scholar and a member of the math team, |
9 | | the National Honor Society, and the swim team; he had special |
10 | | talents in water polo, contributing to Fenwick's state |
11 | | championship as a sophomore before serving as team captain his |
12 | | senior year; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Ryan Masi graduated from Johns Hopkins University |
14 | | in Baltimore, Maryland in 2019, where he majored in Chemistry |
15 | | and played water polo, helping his team win the Division III |
16 | | national championship; he was also a member of the Phi Kappa |
17 | | Psi fraternity; and

18 | | WHEREAS, Ryan Masi worked as a pharmaceutical business |
19 | | analyst at PharmaAce in Princeton, New Jersey; he was noted by |
20 | | colleagues for his enthusiasm, work ethic, and engaging |
21 | | personality; and
