| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of William E. "Bill" Berry of East |
| 4 | | Moline, who passed away on January 14, 2022; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bill Berry was born to Robert and Vera (Johnston) |
| 6 | | Berry in East Moline on April 14, 1931; he married Mary Lou |
| 7 | | Emerson at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline on September |
| 8 | | 5, 1955, and she preceded him in death on April 21, 2019; he |
| 9 | | served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Bill Berry worked as a project engineer for John |
| 11 | | Deere Harvester Works in East Moline until he retired in 1985; |
| 12 | | he continued to serve as a consultant there for another 10 |
| 13 | | years; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Bill Berry was an active member of the former St. |
| 15 | | Mary's Catholic Church in East Moline and currently at Christ |
| 16 | | the King Catholic Church; he was a Boy Scout leader and enjoyed |
| 17 | | camping; he also enjoyed playing volleyball and racquetball, |
| 18 | | running, and traveling; his greatest love was his family; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Bill Berry was preceded in death by his wife, |
| 20 | | Mary Lou Berry; his parents; and his grandson, Robby; and
