SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of William E. "Bill" Berry of East
4Moline, who passed away on January 14, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bill Berry was born to Robert and Vera (Johnston)
6Berry in East Moline on April 14, 1931; he married Mary Lou
7Emerson at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline on September
85, 1955, and she preceded him in death on April 21, 2019; he
9served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Bill Berry worked as a project engineer for John
11Deere Harvester Works in East Moline until he retired in 1985;
12he continued to serve as a consultant there for another 10
13years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Bill Berry was an active member of the former St.
15Mary's Catholic Church in East Moline and currently at Christ
16the King Catholic Church; he was a Boy Scout leader and enjoyed
17camping; he also enjoyed playing volleyball and racquetball,
18running, and traveling; his greatest love was his family; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Bill Berry was preceded in death by his wife,
20Mary Lou Berry; his parents; and his grandson, Robby; and

1    WHEREAS, Bill Berry is survived by his children, William
2(Diana) Berry, Vera (Rich) Temple, Christine (Bruce) York,
3Therese (John) VanHyning, and Robert (Dawn) Berry; his 16
4grandchildren; and his numerous great-grandchildren;
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8William E. "Bill" Berry and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Bill Berry as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
