|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Hughetta C. Hill of Springfield, who |
4 | | passed away on December 1, 2021; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Hughetta Hill was born to Hugh and Ida Hitt Ford |
6 | | in Hillsboro on April 14, 1935; she graduated from Lanphier |
7 | | High School in Springfield; she served in the U.S. Air Force |
8 | | for three years until she was honorably discharged; she |
9 | | continued her growth and education by periodically completing |
10 | | courses at Lincoln Land Community College; she married |
11 | | Frederick A. Hill, and they had two daughters, Michelle and |
12 | | Cheryl; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Hughetta Hill spent the majority of her |
14 | | professional career working first at the Illinois State |
15 | | Department of Revenue and then the Internal Revenue Service, |
16 | | where she last served in Taxpayer Services before retiring; |
17 | | during her career, she received many performance awards, |
18 | | special acts of service recognitions, and leadership |
19 | | accolades; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, Hughetta Hill was a dedicated member of Union |
21 | | Baptist Church, where she was honorably appointed a church |
22 | | mother and proudly participated in the White Rose and Overall |

1 | | Missionary Circles; she will be remembered as a devoted |
2 | | mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; and
|
3 | | WHEREAS, Hughetta Hill was preceded in death by her |
4 | | husband, Frederick A. Hill; her parents; her father-in-law, |
5 | | Edgar Hill; her mothers-in-law, Ruth Hill Thomas and Rachel |
6 | | Hill; and her sister, Barbara J. Day; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Hughetta Hill is survived by her daughters, |
8 | | Michelle L. Hearn (John) and Cheryl K. Hill; her grandsons, |
9 | | Jonathan Hill and Reverend Jarrod Hill (LaKesha); her |
10 | | great-grandchildren; her brother, David Ford; her special |
11 | | brother, Robert J. Day; her special sister, Deborah L. Ford; a |
12 | | host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, |
13 | | great-great-nieces, and friends; her UBC family; and other |
14 | | very special people who became family in her heart; therefore, |
15 | | be it

16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
18 | | Hughetta C. Hill and extend our sincere condolences to her |
19 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
20 | | further
