SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Susan Bird Doucleff, who passed away
4on December 18, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Susan Doucleff was born to William and Clare
6(Jones) Bird in Laredo, Texas on August 10, 1944; she
7graduated from North Texas State University; she married
8Michael S. Doucleff Sr. in Fort Worth, Texas on July 9, 1966;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Susan Doucleff was involved in the Alton
11community and volunteered with the Caravan resale shop at the
12Oasis Women's Center; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Susan Doucleff was a member of the Main St.
14United Methodist Church, where she was active in many
15capacities, including children and youth activities, the
16women's ministry, and the hand bell choir; she was also a
17member of the board at Centerstone of Alton; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Susan Doucleff enjoyed traveling and meeting
19people around the world; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Susan Doucleff was preceded in death by her

1parents; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Susan Doucleff is survived by her husband,
3Michael; her daughter, Amy (Ben) Hollis; her sons, Michael
4(Jennifer) S. Doucleff Jr. and Matthew (Michaeleen) Doucleff;
5her granddaughters, Catherine Hollis, Grace Hollis, Charlotte
6Doucleff, Hazel Doucleff, Eloise Doucleff, and Rosemary
7Doucleff; and her brother, William (Pam) Bird Jr.; therefore,
8be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Susan Bird Doucleff and extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Susan Doucleff as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
