2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Joseph "Kuya JC" Christopher |
4 | | Sunpongco of Chicago, who passed away on October 4, 2021; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Sunpongco was born in the Philippines on |
6 | | December 24, 2004; he was a consistent honor student at |
7 | | Patrick Henry Elementary School; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Before his passing, Joseph Sunpongco was excited |
9 | | to get a job, to have his driver's license, to get his own car, |
10 | | and to help out his beloved family; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Sunpongco was known by his friends and |
12 | | teachers as funny, positive, very smart, humble, loving, and |
13 | | polite; to his family, he was a loyal, caring, dependable, |
14 | | mature, protective and empowering soul; he enjoyed recording |
15 | | rap music in his room and being with friends while playing |
16 | | basketball, skateboarding, swimming, biking, or going to Six |
17 | | Flags during summer breaks; he loved food from many different |
18 | | cultures, including adobo, Filipino-style spaghetti, pansit, |
19 | | lumpia, tacos, tamales, burrito, sushi, and lobster; and

20 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Sunpongco is survived by his mother, |
21 | | Lanie; his stepfather, David; and his younger siblings, Kairos |
