SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Thomas N. Bass of Colona, who passed 
4away on December 14, 2021; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Thomas Bass was born to Samuel L. and Olivia F. 
6(Tipton) Bass in Bridgeport on July 13, 1933; he served in the  
7U.S. Navy during the Korean War; he married Ann Whittington in 
8Champaign in  1955, and she preceded him in death in 1995; he 
9married Linda DeBacker Stone in Carbondale on February 15, 
101997; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Thomas Bass retired from the Rock Island Corps of 
12Engineers in 1997 as chief employee and a labor relations 
13specialist; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Thomas Bass was a past member and commander of 
15VFW Post 2153, Moline, a 50+ member of Clinton Emulation 
16Masonic Lodge 225, and an active member of Blackhawk Chapter 
17338 of National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE); 
18and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Thomas Bass was preceded in death by his son, 
20Russell; and

1    WHEREAS, Thomas Bass is survived by his spouse, Linda; his 
2sons, Samuel (Michelle) Bass and Tom (Lori) Bass Jr.; and his 
3stepsons, Brian (Camy) Stone,  Scott (Julie) Stone, and Todd 
4Stone; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

7Thomas N. Bass and extend our sincere
condolences to his 
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it 
9further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

11presented to the family of Thomas Bass as an expression of
our 
12deepest sympathy.
