2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Lucille K. Masching of Pontiac, who |
4 | | passed away on November 24, 2021; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Lucille Masching was born to Joseph Leo and Irene |
6 | | (Ready) Kelly in Emington on June 9, 1931; she graduated from |
7 | | Dwight High School in 1949; she married Edward P. Masching in |
8 | | Loretto on October 20, 1951, and he preceded her in death on |
9 | | January 18, 2021; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Lucille Masching worked in office administration |
11 | | for the Pontiac Daily Leader and Evenglow Lodge in Pontiac; |
12 | | she later worked for Safeco Insurance in Atlanta, Georgia and |
13 | | then the Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls, |
14 | | Wisconsin; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Lucille Masching was a member of St. Mary's |
16 | | Catholic Church in Pontiac; she enjoyed writing letters, |
17 | | sending cards, and collecting family history and ancestry; she |
18 | | loved giving her sons a hard a time as often as she could; she |
19 | | was very proud of her Irish heritage; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, Lucille Masching was preceded in death by her |
21 | | parents; her husband, Edward Masching; her grandson, Derek |

1 | | Seib; and her brothers, Clare Kelly and Joe Kelly; and
|
2 | | WHEREAS, Lucille Masching is survived by her children, |
3 | | Joyce (Don) Seib, Joan (Richard) Hyde, Mark (Kristy) Masching, |
4 | | Kevin (Joni) Masching, and Eric Masching; her brother, Leo |
5 | | Kelly; her sisters-in-law, Delores Kelly and Kay Kelly; her |
6 | | grandchildren, Brian (Lindsay) Masching, Todd (Jen) Masching, |
7 | | Rich (Jamie) Hyde, Kara (Justin) Hoffmann, Brock Masching, |
8 | | Kyle (Brittany) Masching, and Larissa (Charles) Johnson; and |
9 | | her great-grandchildren, Addison, Bailey, Cayden, Owen, |
10 | | Olivia, Damian, Adley, Darren, Arya, Troy, Hannah, Collin, |
11 | | Blake, Bryce, and Kamryn; therefore, be it

12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
14 | | Lucille K. Masching and extend our sincere condolences to her |
15 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
16 | | further

17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
18 | | presented to the family of Lucille Masching as an expression |
19 | | of our deepest sympathy.
