SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Billy Gene Sneed of Moline, who passed
4away on November 10, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Billy Sneed was born to Enos Monroe and Bessie
6(Counts) Sneed in Russellville, Alabama on August 30, 1927; he
7proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II; he earned
8a degree in Agricultural Engineering from Auburn University;
9he married Mary Catherine Hester in Russellville on May 16,
101953, and she preceded him in death on January 14, 2020; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Billy Sneed worked for John Deere for 40 years;
12he first worked in Atlanta before moving to the Quad Cities
13where he worked as product support manager; he retired in
141990; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Billy Sneed was a very active member of First
16Presbyterian Church of East Moline and served on several
17committees over the years; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Billy Sneed enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, and
19working in his yard; he also loved Auburn football and Iowa
20football and basketball; and

1    WHEREAS, Billy Sneed is survived by his daughters, Beverly
2(Bill) Nesbit and Marilyn (Greg) Cornish; his grandchildren,
3Nate (Caitlyn) Nesbit, Sam (Eliza) Nesbit, Grant (Caitlin)
4Cornish, and Emily (Zack) Jaeger; his great-grandchild, Graham
5Cornish; and his siblings, Leland (Annette) and Carolyn
6Fuller; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Billy Gene Sneed and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Billy Sneed as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
