SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Laura Catherine Mackie Forrest, who
4passed away on October 16, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Laura Forrest was born to Robert J. and Mary
6Catharine Mackie in Bloomington on August 23, 1961 and had one
7brother, Robert C. Mackie; she attended OLPH Primary School,
8Regina Catholic High School, and the University of Indiana;
9she ultimately transferred to and graduated from Barat College
10in Lake Forest with a degree in English and a minor in Art
11History; she married Kevin Forrest, and they had two
12daughters, Colleen and Kathleen; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Laura Forrest worked in pharmaceutical sales for
14over 25 years and was most passionate about forming personal
15relationships and connecting with those she met and those with
16whom she worked; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Laura Forrest loved flowers, wild hats and
18sweaters, and going "all out" for holidays; her love for
19others and for nature were unmatched; she was also very
20passionate about the arts and traveling to new and interesting
21places; she could always be found cheering for her daughters'
22basketball teams, chatting over the fence with neighbors while

1gardening, or hosting great friends in her beautiful backyard;
2she was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend;
3therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Laura Catherine Mackie Forrest and extend our sincere
7condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
8her; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Laura Forrest as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
