| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Eric Juane "Ricky" Clemons, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on October 6, 2021; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Eric Clemons was born to Harold and Nadine Avon | ||||||
| 6 | Clemons in St. Louis, Missouri on August 1, 1953; he attended | ||||||
| 7 | East St. Louis public schools; he completed his general | ||||||
| 8 | studies at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale; he | ||||||
| 9 | married Roeveina Moore on August 8, 2021; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Eric Clemons worked for many established | ||||||
| 11 | companies over the course of his career, including Peabody | ||||||
| 12 | Coal, J.B. Hunt, and Davidson Incorporated; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, After working for others, Eric Clemons focused on | ||||||
| 14 | his love for truck driving and developed his own trucking | ||||||
| 15 | business, permitting him to make shipments and deliveries to | ||||||
| 16 | businesses and large corporations across the United States; | ||||||
| 17 | and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, After over 20 years of dedicated employment, Eric | ||||||
| 19 | Clemons retired before quickly realizing that he truly enjoyed | ||||||
| 20 | what he did; he re-entered the workforce and was then employed | ||||||
| 21 | by JC Transport, where he remained until he became ill; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Eric Clemons was preceded in death by his mother, | ||||||
| 2 | Nadine Clemons; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Eric Clemons is survived by his wife, Roeveina | ||||||
| 4 | Clemons; his daughter, Sunshine Clemons; his granddaughter, | ||||||
| 5 | Aria Bender; his stepchildren, Anthony Miller, DeAugenaye | ||||||
| 6 | Brown, Demarcus Brown, and Aaliyah Hyde; his special | ||||||
| 7 | step-granddaughter, Armajanaye "Tink" Meaders; his father, | ||||||
| 8 | Harold (Girthal) Clemons; his siblings, Harolyn (Ellsworth) | ||||||
| 9 | Neal, Lawrence Clemons, Haralyna (Brian) McGill, Anthony Rich, | ||||||
| 10 | Carla Rich, Todd Clemons, and Shavawn Blakeney; and a host of | ||||||
| 11 | other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, | ||||||
| 12 | be it

| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
| 14 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 15 | Eric Juane "Ricky" Clemons and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
| 16 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
| 17 | it further
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 19 | presented to the family of Eric Clemons as an expression of our | ||||||
| 20 | deepest sympathy.
