2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Lawrence A. Juracic, who passed away |
4 | | on November 7, 2020 at the age of 92; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic was born on February 25, 1928; |
6 | | he was raised near Wrigley Field in the Lakeview neighborhood |
7 | | of Chicago but had the courage to become a devoted White Sox |
8 | | fan; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic attended St. Patrick High School |
10 | | and graduated from St. Mary's University in Winona, Minnesota, |
11 | | where he played college football; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic served in the United States Army |
13 | | during the Korean War; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic witnessed history during the |
15 | | 1963 NFL Championship when the Chicago Bears beat the New York |
16 | | Giants; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic built a successful sales career |
18 | | in the meatpacking industry; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic was proud of his Croatian and |

1 | | Polish heritage; and
|
2 | | WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic was married to Eunice A. |
3 | | (Nickel) Juracic for 49 years; and
|
4 | | WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic was a 60 year member of St. |
5 | | Bernardine Church and never skipped Sunday Mass; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic was preceded in death by his |
7 | | wife; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, At the time of his death, Lawrence Juracic was |
9 | | survived by his children, Marianne (Steven) Carlson, Eileen |
10 | | Carraher, Carol (Joseph) Segobiano, and David L. Juracic; his |
11 | | grandchildren, Lauren, Alison, Megan, Katie, Lucas, Isabel, |
12 | | Ryan, and Emma; his sister, Elaine (Tom) Stockwell; and his |
13 | | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
16 | | Lawrence A. Juracic and extend our sincere condolences to his |
17 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
18 | | further

19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
20 | | presented to the family of Lawrence Juracic as an expression |
