2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Robert "Bob" L. Pitford of Coal | ||||||
4 | Valley, who passed away on September 22, 2021; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bob Pitford was born to Elmer and Elnora (Blum) | ||||||
6 | Pitford in South Gate, California on January 18, 1939; he | ||||||
7 | served in the U.S. Navy; he married Dona Miller in Kahoka, | ||||||
8 | Missouri on May 2, 1964, and she preceded him in death in 2006; | ||||||
9 | he married Linda Kinney Martin at the Nauvoo Temple in Nauvoo, | ||||||
10 | Illinois in 2008; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Bob Pitford retired as an electrical engineer | ||||||
12 | from Williams White & Company in 2004; he also farmed with his | ||||||
13 | brother, Rex; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Bob Pitford was active with his church, The | ||||||
15 | Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and served on | ||||||
16 | missions in Cleveland, Ohio and Salt Lake City, Utah; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Bob Pitford was a foster father to 32 children | ||||||
18 | and was active with the Boy Scouts of America; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Bob Pitford liked genealogy research and golf, | ||||||
20 | and in his earlier years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting; and

1 | WHEREAS, Bob Pitford was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
2 | his first wife; and his grandson, Isaac Molapo; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Bob Pitford is survived by his wife, Linda; his | ||||||
4 | daughters, Brenda Ingold, Wendy Pitford, Jennifer Pitford, | ||||||
5 | Christina Pitford, Alecia (Bob) Pitman, Marla (Steve) Hawkins, | ||||||
6 | Tiffany (Drew) Clarke, Deirdre Crouse, Heather (Dale) Weaver, | ||||||
7 | and Rachael (Tsooane) Molapo; his 30 grandchildren; his 13 | ||||||
8 | great-grandchildren; his one great-great-grandchild; his | ||||||
9 | brother, Rex (Judy) Pitford; his two nieces; his one nephew; | ||||||
10 | his two grandnieces; and his three grandnephews; therefore, be | ||||||
11 | it

12 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
13 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
14 | Robert "Bob" L. Pitford and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
15 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
16 | further

17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
18 | presented to the family of Bob Pitford as an expression of our | ||||||
19 | deepest sympathy.
