SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of LeRoy Harshbarger of Collinsville,
4formerly of Granite City and Belle, Missouri, who passed away
5on September 21, 2021; and
 
6    WHEREAS, LeRoy Harshbarger was born to Roland and Nellie
7(Burns) Harshbarger in Granite City on June 4, 1931; he
8proudly served his country with the Seabees, a U.S. Naval
9Construction Battalion; he married Margaret Jane (Roby)
10Harshbarger, and she passed away after 31 years of marriage;
11he married Ginger K. (Walker) Skaggs at High Gate Baptist
12Church in Missouri on December 21, 2000; and
 
13    WHEREAS, LeRoy Harshbarger retired from the Granite City
14Fire Department after 25 years of dedicated service as a
15fireman; and
 
16    WHEREAS, LeRoy Harshbarger was a member of Masonic Lodge
17#373 in Belle, Missouri; and
 
18    WHEREAS, LeRoy Harshbarger was preceded in death by his
19first wife; his parents; his stepson, Randy Phillips; his
20brother, Donald Harshbarger; and his sister and
21brother-in-law, Joann and Glen Romine; and

1    WHEREAS, LeRoy Harshbarger is survived by his beloved
2wife; his stepchildren and their spouses, Michael and Debbie
3Phillips, Tommy and Connie Phillips, and Kimberly and Ronald
4Watt; his many step-grandchildren; his
5step-great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Jacquelinn
6Harshbarger; and his other extended family and friends;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10LeRoy Harshbarger and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of LeRoy Harshbarger as an expression
15of our deepest sympathy.
