SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Linwood Rayford Elliott of Alton, who
4passed away on September 3, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Linwood Elliott was born to Anthony Elliott III
6and Willie Mae Davis Elliott in Grenada, Mississippi on May
729, 1943; he graduated from Carrie Dotson High School in
8Grenada in 1963; he also attended Alcorn University; he
9relocated to Godfrey in 1965, where he first resided with his
10sister, Judia, his brother-in-law, E.O. Lacey, and family;
11after being in the social arena, he moved to Alton, where he
12resided with his brother, James, his sister-in-law, Annie Lee
13Elliott, and family; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Linwood Elliott was a former employee of the
15Duncan Foundry, the Olin Chemical Corporation, and the Alton
16Boxboard Company; he retired from the Clark Oil Refinery; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Linwood Elliott was affectionately known as
18"Yabba Dabba Do"; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Linwood Elliott is survived by his children,
20Tambla Lynn Elliott, Anthony L. J. Elliott (Rene), Linwood
21Elliott Jr. (Glendoria), Alison Joelle (Kamal) Randolph, and

1Dr. Angela A. Elliott; his bonus daughter, Java Taylor
2Anderson; his bonus son, Gregory Calvin McGraw; his best
3friend and former wife, Minister Joyce Y. Elliott; his 12
4grandchildren; his 13 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Willie
5Louise Paramore and Mary Helen Elliott; his bonus sister,
6Peggy Williams; his sisters-in-law, Annie Lee Elliott, Alice
7Elliott, Mabell Elliott, Doris Jo Elliott, Betty Holloway,
8Janice Watson, Marilyn Glen, Ruby Madison, and Barbara
9Thompson; his brothers-in-law, William Watson, William
10Thompson, Ernest Henderson, and Bert Henderson; his many
11nieces and nephews; and his cousins and special friends,
12Anthony Jones, Dale Edwards, John Jackson, Anthony Gator, and
13Billie Williams; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Linwood Rayford Elliott and extend our sincere condolences to
17his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Linwood Elliott as an expression of
21our deepest sympathy.
