SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of William "Bill" Glenn Owens of
4Bloomington, who passed away on September 1, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bill Owens was born to Kirtz Glenn and Dorothy
6(Kelley) Owens in Towanda on June 12, 1942; he was raised and
7educated in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School
8in 1960; he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965; he
9married Judy Lane Boruff at the United Methodist Church in
10Lexington on June 29, 1963; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bill Owens spent 20 years working at Sears in
12Bloomington and later owned B.J.'s Restoration in Bloomington,
13retiring in 2019; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Bill Owens was a member of Eastview Christian
15Church and served in many ministries of the church; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Bill Owens was preceded in death by his parents
17and his sister, Sally Jo; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Bill Owens is survived by his wife, Judy; his
19son, Benjamin James Owens; his brothers, Delmar (Jean) Owens,
20DuWayne Owens, Leon (Sarah) Owens, and Lynn Owens; and his

1sisters, Dorothy Mae Owens, Phyllis Leslie, and Annetta
2Webber; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, we mourn the passing of
5William "Bill" Glenn Owens and extend our sincere condolences
6to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
7it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Bill Owens as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
