SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Bruce H. Pieper of Rock Island, who
4passed away on August 8, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bruce Pieper was born to Arthur and Gladys
6(Davis) Pieper in Waterloo, Iowa on July 10, 1929; he married
7Norma Smith in Rock Island on October 6, 1945; he served in the
8U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bruce Pieper retired from International Harvester
10in East Moline, where he was a material handling engineer; he
11was an executive on loan from International Harvester to
12United Way of the QC for many years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bruce Pieper was a member of 15th Avenue
14Christian Church, Rock Island and a former member of Memorial
15Christian Church; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Bruce Pieper enjoyed fishing, hunting, and
17spending time with his family; he and his wife enjoyed
18performing and volunteering with the Quad City Music Guild
19theater in Moline, where he performed in 18 leading roles; he
20was also a performer at Play Crafters, Circa 21, and many other
21venues around the Quad Cities; and

1    WHEREAS, Bruce Pieper was preceded in death by his wife;
2his parents; his daughter, Judy Abbott; his sisters, Ruth
3Collins, Darlene Justesen, and Thelma Engman; and his brother,
4Raymond; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bruce Pieper is survived by his children, Greg
6(Mary) Pieper, Chris (Becky) Pieper, Debra (Larry) Wakeland,
7David (Sharon) Pieper, Kevin (Valeree) Pieper, and Bonnie
8(Robert) Warnock; his 19 grandchildren; his 33
9great-grandchildren; his seven great-great-grandchildren; and
10his numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Bruce H. Pieper and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Bruce Pieper as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
