SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of William "Doc" J. Irvine Jr. O.D. of
4Springfield, who passed away on July 14, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bill Irvine was born to William J. Irvine Sr.
6O.D. and Margaret E. File Irvine in Quincy on May 17, 1942; he
7proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and Air National
8Guard with the 183rd medical squadron, retiring as a Lt.
9Colonel; he graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry
10in Chicago; he married Robin M. Bloxam on April 27, 2001; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bill Irvine's career as an optometrist spanned
12over 40 years; he started alongside his father in private
13practice in downtown Springfield and was most recently
14employed with Walmart Vision Center; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Bill Irvine loved golf and was a member of the
16Panther Creek Country Club for many years; he was an avid
17Chicago Cubs fan; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Bill Irvine was known for his generosity and
19kindness and for living a simple, humble life with his family
20and friends; and

1    WHEREAS, Bill Irvine was preceded in death by his parents;
2his brother, Timothy Irvine; and his brother-in-law, John
3Barge; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Bill Irvine is survived by his wife, Robin M.
5Irvine; his sons, David Irvine and Tyler (Sommer) Irvine; his
6daughters, Lisa (Tripp) Tuttle and Amanda Allen; his
7grandchildren, Malayna and Jaylin Marx and Braden and Hank
8Tuttle; his sister, Patricia Barge; his nieces and nephews;
9his cousins; and his friends; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12William "Doc" "Bill" J. Irvine Jr. O.D. and extend our sincere
13condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
14him; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Bill Irvine as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
