SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Arlene Mabel Hall, who passed away on
4July 15, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Arlene Hall was born in Alton to Ralph and Mabel
6(Klopmeier) Helmkamp on January 24, 1942; she graduated from
7Bunker Hill High School in 1960; she married Ralph Hall at Zion
8Lutheran Church in Bunker Hill on November 14, 1964; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Arlene Hall worked at Millers Mutual and Olin
10Winchester after graduating high school; she was a
11stay-at-home mom until she became a representative for Avon
12from 1970 until 1982; she then joined Mary Kay Cosmetics,
13where she served as a sales director for 39 years; during her
14illustrious career, she won 17 cars, placed on the National
15Court of Sales 17 times, and placed on the National Court of
16Sharing; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Arlene Hall was a proud member of St. Paul
18Lutheran Church Wood River for 56 years, where she enjoyed
19being a member of the choir and of the handbell choir and
20taught Sunday school; she was a loving wife, mother, and
21grandmother; she was affectionately known as "Nana" to her
22grandchildren; she will be remembered for selflessly devoting

1herself to her family and her faith; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Arlene Hall was preceded in death by her parents;
3her in-laws, Merrill and Helen Hall; her brother-in-law, Ed
4Gillis; her nephew, Ed Gillis Jr.; her niece, Amy Robinson;
5and her great-nephew, Wyatt Robinson; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Arlene Hall is survived by her husband of 56
7years, Ralph Hall; her daughter, Jennifer (Mike) Baggett; her
8son, William (Sara) Hall; her grandchildren, Joshua (Allison)
9Baggett, Jessica Baggett, Katie Hall, Jacob Hall, Logan Hall,
10Matthew Yates, and Kyle Yates; her sisters, Louise (Jerry)
11Weidner, Janet Gillis, and Phyllis (John) Robinson; therefore,
12be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Arlene Mabel Hall and extend our sincere condolences to her
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Arlene Hall as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy.
