SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Roy E. Stottler of Silvis, who passed
4away on November 25, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Roy Stottler was born in Girard to Paul and Mabel
6Fox Stottler on January 8, 1923; he served in the U.S. Army
7during World War II; he married Margaret Peterson on December
820, 1947, and together they had four children; he later
9married Jane Wortman in Silvis on September 20, 1975; and
 
10    WHEREAS, With his brother-in-law Ben Bahnks, Roy Stottler
11was the co-owner/operator of Ben and Roy's Conoco in Silvis
12for 33 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Roy Stottler was proud to have participated in
14the Quad Cities Honor Flight in 2011; he enjoyed spending time
15with his family, hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling,
16traveling, and dinning out; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Roy Stottler was preceded in death by his wife,
18Jane; his parents; his daughter, Sharon Krogman; his grandson,
19Matthew Dreifurst; and his siblings, Emmett, Paul, Mason,
20Danny, Truman, Pauline, and Maggie; and

1    WHEREAS, Roy Stottler is survived by his children, Ken
2(Janet) Stottler Henderson, Kathy (Paul) Stumphy, and Ginger
3(Kevin) Dreifurst; his grandchildren, Missy, Sara, Paula,
4Rachel, Mark, Nate, Megan, and Luke; his great-grandchildren,
5Emma, Natalie, Claire, Emily, Isabelle, Harley, Paisley,
6Alison, Hollyn, John, and Adalynn; and his sisters, Marie
7Douglas and Yvonne Hoover; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Roy E. Stottler and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Roy Stottler as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
