SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Don Lewis Fritson of Normal, who
4passed away on May 6, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Don Fritson was born to Christina and George
6Fritson in Franklin, Nebraska on November 26, 1936; he
7graduated from Franklin High School; he earned a bachelor's
8degree from the University of Nebraska where he was a member of
9the Beta Sigma Psi Fraternity; he was a corpsman in the Navy
10and served in Japan; he was then transferred as a corpsman to
11the Marines and worked at a radiation lab in San Francisco; he
12married Veralu "Lou" Meyer on April 23, 1966; and
 
13    WHEREAS, In 1964, Don Fritson began his 36-year career
14with State Farm Insurance Company at the regional office in
15Lincoln, Nebraska before he was transferred to the
16Bloomington, Illinois home office; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Don Fritson was known for his great smile and his
18sense of humor; he wasn't a man of stories but of one-liners;
19he enjoyed his travels but was not a vacationer, as he liked to
20continually be "on the go"; since 2001, he was lucky enough to
21be able to spend his winters at his home in Green Valley,
22Arizona; he had a deep faith and especially enjoyed sharing

1his love of a good meal with his family and friends; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Don Fritson was preceded in death by his parents;
3his son, Michael; and his brother, Lavon Fritson; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Don Fritson is survived by his wife; his
5daughter, Amy (David) Fritson Coffman; his granddaughter, Anna
6Mireya Coffman; and his extended family; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Don Lewis Fritson and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Don Fritson as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
