SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of James "Neil" DeWeerdt of Moline, who
4passed away on April 5, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James DeWeerdt was born on October 13, 1945; he
6was the son of Vernon and Ruth (Mundell DeWeerdt) Vivini; he
7married Sharon Eastman on January 7, 1972; he served his
8country in the U.S. Army; and
 
9    WHEREAS, James DeWeerdt worked as a factory worker for
10Arconic at the former Alcoa plant for many years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, James DeWeerdt was a proud member of the VFW and
12the Morris American Legion; and
 
13    WHEREAS, James DeWeerdt enjoyed golfing, fishing, and
14playing cards in his free time; and
 
15    WHEREAS, James DeWeerdt was preceded in death by his
16parents; and
 
17    WHEREAS, James DeWeerdt is survived by his wife, Sharon;
18his son, James (Sheri) DeWeerdt; his daughters, Michele (Troy)
19Hofmann, Jill DeWeerdt, Beth (David) Kramer, and Hope Kress;

1his sister; Phyllis Kay (Dale) Olson; his grandchildren;
2Alyssa (David) Evans, Paige (Garrett) Lingham, Zach (Morgan)
3Trulson, Jessie DeWeerdt, Briana DeWeerdt, Chase DeWeerdt, and
4Jacob Hofmann; and his great-grandchildren, Riley, Wyatt,
5Oakley, Delilah, Taylor, and Tyler; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8James "Neil" DeWeerdt and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of James Deweerdt as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
