|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of John "Jack" DeLaMar of Champaign, who |
4 | | passed away on March 26, 2021; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Jack DeLaMar was born to Miriam and Gordon |
6 | | DeLaMar in 1945; he grew up in Chicago and attended Leo High |
7 | | School; he graduated with honors from the University of |
8 | | Illinois; he later graduated from the University of Illinois |
9 | | College of Law, where he was elected to the Order of Coif; he |
10 | | married Melody McCormick, and they were married for 53 years; |
11 | | and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Jack DeLaMar began his legal career in private |
13 | | practice; he then served as an assistant state's attorney for |
14 | | Champaign County for six years; he was appointed associate |
15 | | judge for Champaign County at the age of 33 in 1979; he was |
16 | | elected circuit judge in 1996; he retired after 23 years on the |
17 | | bench; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, After retiring, Jack DeLaMar volunteered with |
19 | | CASA, where he zealously advocated for abused and neglected |
20 | | children; and
|
21 | | WHEREAS, Jack DeLaMar was committed to his faith; he was |

1 | | known as a hard worker and a great athlete; he played softball |
2 | | for 60 years and retired from senior softball at age 68; he |
3 | | also enjoyed a lifetime of hiking, biking, and water skiing; |
4 | | he was a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Bears fan; he loved his |
5 | | family, friends, and Michigan sunsets; he will be remembered |
6 | | for living his life with passion for his family and a devotion |
7 | | to the protection of children; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Jack DeLaMar was the loving husband of Melody, |
9 | | the joyful father of Shannon (Ernest) Noa, Cathleen (Joseph) |
10 | | Lindt and Shawn (David) Lapetino, and the proud grandfather of |
11 | | Sean (Lauren) Noa, Alex Noa, Joshua Noa, Jimmy Lindt, Ashlynn |
12 | | Lindt, Colleen Lindt, Nicholas Lapetino, and Jonathan |
13 | | Lapetino; therefore, be it

14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
16 | | John "Jack" DeLaMar and extend our sincere condolences to his |
17 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
18 | | further

19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
20 | | presented to the family of Jack DeLaMar as an expression of our |
21 | | deepest sympathy.
