2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Patrick "Pat" Giordano of Newburgh, |
4 | | Indiana, formerly of Springfield, who passed away on February |
5 | | 3, 2021; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Pat Giordano was born to Carl and Louise |
7 | | (Gentile) Giordano in Springfield on September 18, 1951; he |
8 | | graduated from Griffin High School and the University of |
9 | | Illinois in Springfield; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Pat Giordano was a jailor and Deputy Sheriff for |
11 | | Sangamon County; he became the chief of police and owned a gun |
12 | | shop in Grandview; he later worked for the Environmental |
13 | | Protection Agency in Springfield and the Illinois Department |
14 | | of Agriculture, where he wrote a manual for Prime Farmland |
15 | | Reclamation; he also worked for the Alliance Pipeline in La |
16 | | Salle-Peru and retired from the Illinois Department of Natural |
17 | | Resources; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Pat Giordano was a negotiator and member of the |
19 | | AFSCME Union; he was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in |
20 | | Springfield and a current member of Holy Rosary Catholic |
21 | | Church in Evansville; he volunteered with CASA; and
|
|

1 | | WHEREAS, Most of all, Pat Giordano loved spending time |
2 | | with his family, especially his grandchildren; and
|
3 | | WHEREAS, Pat Giordano was preceded in death by his |
4 | | parents; his sister, Clara Marie Krumweide; and his brother, |
5 | | Louis Giordano; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Pat Giordano is survived by his wife of 49 years, |
7 | | Anita (Kyle) Giordano; his daughters, Jennifer (Michael) |
8 | | Patrick, Carla (Sean) Bagbey, and Rachel Giordano; his |
9 | | grandchildren, Jasmine Dopp, Alyssa Patrick, William Patrick, |
10 | | Noah Bagbey, and Ainsley Bagbey; his brother, Carl Lee |
11 | | (Martha) Giordano; his sisters, Paula (Keith) Moore and Nancy |
12 | | (Thomas) Curry; and his nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
|
13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
15 | | Pat Giordano and extend our sincere condolences to his family, |
16 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
18 | | presented to the family of Pat Giordano as an expression of our |
19 | | deepest sympathy.
