2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Carol Ann Glynn of East Peoria, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on November 23, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Carol Glynn was born to Virgil and Victoria | ||||||
6 | (Swenson) Bowlby in Davenport, Iowa on October 5, 1937; her | ||||||
7 | family moved from Davenport to East Peoria in 1946; she | ||||||
8 | graduated from East Peoria High School in 1955; she attended | ||||||
9 | Illinois State University, where she met Terry W. Glynn; they | ||||||
10 | were married in Peoria on August 20, 1957; she graduated with a | ||||||
11 | degree in Special Education in 1961; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Carol Glynn taught grade school in Morton, junior | ||||||
13 | high school in East Peoria, and high school in Washington, | ||||||
14 | Illinois; she retired in 1993 as the head of the Special | ||||||
15 | Education Department and as the J-V Tennis Coach; after | ||||||
16 | retirement, she provided professional interior arrangement | ||||||
17 | services through a small business she started, as she always | ||||||
18 | had an eye for design, color, and art; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Carol Glynn and her husband were active in the | ||||||
20 | First United Methodist Church in Peoria during the 60s and | ||||||
21 | 70s; while wintering in Hilton Head, they joined the Universal | ||||||
22 | Unitarian Church of Hilton Head and later the Universal |

1 | Unitarian Church of Peoria; she was active in the Fine Arts | ||||||
2 | Society of Peoria, The Art Guild, and the Peoria Garden Club; | ||||||
3 | she was the superintendent of the Heart of Illinois Fair | ||||||
4 | Horticulture for several years; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Carol Glynn and her family enjoyed a family | ||||||
6 | camping vacation every year; she and her husband enjoyed many | ||||||
7 | traveling adventures, including hiking and camping in a pup | ||||||
8 | tent throughout Europe, educational tours, cruises, trips to | ||||||
9 | Asia, and an African safari; she enjoyed painting, flower | ||||||
10 | arrangement, home decorating, and sewing beautiful outfits for | ||||||
11 | herself and her children; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Carol Glynn was preceded in death by her son, | ||||||
13 | Michael Will Glynn; her parents; and her sister, Mary | ||||||
14 | (Johnson) Morehead; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Carol Glynn is survived by her husband of 63 | ||||||
16 | years, Terry; her two daughters, Kathy Glynn and Kristy Glynn; | ||||||
17 | her two grandchildren, Tracey (Zachery) Myers and Douglas | ||||||
18 | Glynn; and her two great-grandchildren, Cora and Tucker Myers; | ||||||
19 | therefore, be it

20 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
21 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
22 | Carol Ann Glynn and extend our sincere condolences to her |

1 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||

3 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
