2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to congratulate our colleague, | ||||||
4 | Representative Chris Bos, on his distinguished service to the | ||||||
5 | people of the 51st District and the State of Illinois; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Rep. Bos studied at Northcentral University and | ||||||
7 | the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy; | ||||||
8 | and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Rep. Bos has been dedicated to community service | ||||||
10 | throughout his life, pursuing a career with non-profit | ||||||
11 | organizations and volunteering in his community; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Rep. Bos' prior work with non-profit | ||||||
13 | organizations, which included working to free children from | ||||||
14 | sexual exploitation and providing programs to heal children | ||||||
15 | and young adult victims of human trafficking, played an | ||||||
16 | influential role in his legislative work; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Rep. Bos quickly gained a reputation for working | ||||||
18 | across the aisle to pass legislation, enabling him to lead | ||||||
19 | efforts for new laws to protect underage victims of sex | ||||||
20 | trafficking, improve support for students with developmental | ||||||
21 | disabilities, and memorialize the service of a local soldier; |

2 | WHEREAS, Rep. Bos also led the bipartisan effort to change | ||||||
3 | state law to ensure that no one will be forced to die alone | ||||||
4 | without a family member at their side, even during a pandemic; | ||||||

6 | WHEREAS, Rep. Bos' expertise and advocacy led to his | ||||||
7 | appointment to several critical public policy task forces, | ||||||
8 | including the Protection of Individuals with Disabilities in | ||||||
9 | the Criminal Justice System Task Force, the Human Trafficking | ||||||
10 | Task Force, the Public Safety and Violence Prevention Task | ||||||
11 | Force, and the Racial Disproportionality in Child Welfare Task | ||||||
12 | Force, among others; and

13 | WHEREAS, In recognition of his service, Rep. Bos has been | ||||||
14 | named a Friend of Agriculture by Illinois Farm Bureau | ||||||
15 | ACTIVATOR and a Champion of Small and Mid-Size Manufacturers | ||||||
16 | by the Technology and Manufacturing Association; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, As Rep. Bos begins the next chapter of his life, | ||||||
18 | we wish him, his wife, Christina, and their children all the | ||||||
19 | best; therefore, be it
