HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of James J.
4Niemerg of Dieterich, who passed away on November 2, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Niemerg was born in Chicago to Philip and
6Marie (Repking) Niemerg on December 5, 1930; he served in the
7military during the Korean War; he married Nancy G. Lange in
8Chicago on June 9, 1956; after her passing, he married Barbara
9Glassford in 2012; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Following his military service, James Niemerg was
11employed at Sargent & Lundy in Chicago; in 1966, he purchased
12his maternal family farm in rural Bishop Creek, which he
13operated into the late 1990s; during that time, he and Nancy
14raised a family in what is commonly referred to as "God's
15Country"; he would often refer to the time he spent on the farm
16in the 1930s and 1940s and how much he wanted his sons to have
17the same experience; and
 
18    WHEREAS, James Niemerg enjoyed golf, farming, and spending
19time with his sons and daughter, grandchildren, and
20great-grandchildren; he will be deeply missed; and
 
21    WHEREAS, James Niemerg was preceded in death by his wife,

1Nancy; his parents; his infant children, Henry Alphonse and
2Mary Katherine; his brother, Paul Niemerg; and his sister,
3Joan, and her husband, Girard Annino; and
 
4    WHEREAS, James Niemerg is survived by his wife, Barbara;
5his daughter, Katie (Roger) Waldhoff; his sons, Bob (Cindy),
6Joe (Rosemary), John, Phil (Stephanie), Ray (Chandra), and Jim
7(Joann); 30 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren; his
8siblings, Wilma Niemerg and Donald (Carolyn); and his
9sister-in-law, Jeanine (Marty) Kurtyka; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
11HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we mourn the passing of James J. Niemerg and extend our sincere
13condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
14him; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of James Niemerg as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
