HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Chanel
4Renee Wilson, who passed away on November 2, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Chanel Wilson was born to Sylvia (Price) and
6Dennis Wilson in Naperville on October 15, 1997; committing to
7her faith at an early age, she attended Aurora Christian
8School and graduated from Aurora Central Catholic High School;
9she earned a scholarship to Creighton University in Omaha,
10Nebraska and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in
11Emergency Medical Services; shortly after graduating from
12Creighton, she earned her National EMS Certification as a
13paramedic; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Chanel Wilson began working for
15Delnor-Northwestern Hospital in Geneva in the fall of 2021;
16she enjoyed working as an Emergency Medical Technician in the
17Emergency Room, as she loved her job and colleagues; at the
18time of her passing, she was planning to return to school to
19pursue a degree in nursing; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Chanel Wilson loved adventure and new
21experiences; she enjoyed doing things outdoors and had visited
22Alaska and Colorado; she enjoyed riding dirt-bikes with her

1dad, playing guitar, all kinds of sports, and photography; she
2had a loving and giving spirit and would go out of her way to
3help others; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Chanel Wilson was preceded in death by her older
5sister, Cherisse Wilson; her grandparents; and her aunts,
6Lauta (Alvin) Joyner (Alvin) and Carmelita Price; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Chanel Wilson is survived by her parents; her
8sisters, Chelsea Wilson (fiancée Kenneth Miller) and Tiana
9Ashley; her nephews, Paul and Josiah Amos; her niece, Amor
10Amos; her cousins, Kasmirah (Derick) Scarbrough, Lyden Joyner,
11Koah Scarbrough, Andrea (Timothy) Harris, and Gregory Mines;
12her aunt, Pamela Mines; her uncles, Alvin Joyner and Michael
13Wilson; her great-aunt, Aunt Dorothy; and a host of other
14family and friends; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
16HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17we mourn the passing of Chanel Renee Wilson and extend our
18sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew
19and loved her; and be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Chanel Wilson as an expression of
22our deepest sympathy.
