HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Samuel Vincent Richmond of Peoria, who passed away on October 3, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Vincent Richmond was born to Hilton and Eloise (McCullum) Richmond in Peoria on October 11, 1962; he graduated from Richwoods High School in 1980, where he played basketball; he married Deetra Bradley in Peoria in 2017; and

WHEREAS, Vincent Richmond worked for Dixon's Seafood on University for many years; he later worked as a butcher for Kroger on Wisconsin Street for over 30 years; he also worked for Vonachen Services, Inc. (VSI); he last worked in maintenance at the Peoria International Airport; and

WHEREAS, Vincent Richmond was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan; he enjoyed going to movies and loved watching movies on Netflix; and

WHEREAS, Vincent Richmond was affectionately known as "Meat Man"; he lit up every room he walked into with his enormous smile; and

WHEREAS, Vincent Richmond was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra McCullum; and

WHEREAS, Vincent Richmond is survived by his wife; his parents; his sons, Julius Lewis, Isiah Thompson, and Jalen Bradley; his daughters, Shylow Humes, Kayla Thompson, Asia Abbey, Eterica Bradley, and Courtney Lewis; his brothers, Avery Hightower and Bruce Smith; his sisters, Theresa (Terrence) Smith-Harris, Joyce Bradley, and Karen (Donald) Smith; his 15 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and his friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Samuel Vincent Richmond and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Vincent Richmond as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
