| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Blake E. Roderick on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of his retirement as Executive Director of the | ||||||
| 5 | Pike-Scott Farm Bureau and the Two Rivers Farm Bureau | ||||||
| 6 | Foundation in May 2022 after serving members for over 41 | ||||||
| 7 | years; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Beginning in 1981, Blake Roderick served the | ||||||
| 9 | Sangamon County Farm Bureau, the Pike County Farm Bureau, the | ||||||
| 10 | Scott County Farm Bureau, and the Pike-Scott Farm Bureau after | ||||||
| 11 | their merger in 2018; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, During his career, Blake Roderick was a strong | ||||||
| 13 | advocate on many issues affecting farm bureau members; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Blake Roderick organized flood fighting efforts | ||||||
| 15 | on the Illinois and Mississippi rivers and organized several | ||||||
| 16 | issue campaigns, including private property rights protection, | ||||||
| 17 | sane wetland regulations, renewable energy ordinances, right | ||||||
| 18 | to raise livestock, farmland assessment, state and county tax | ||||||
| 19 | issues, and state and federal regulations; and | ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Blake Roderick actively served in many local, | ||||||
| 21 | state, and national organizations; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Blake Roderick served as chairman of the Illini | ||||||
| 2 | Community Hospital System during its successful transition to | ||||||
| 3 | become part of the Blessing Health System; and | ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Blake Roderick served on the executive committee | ||||||
| 5 | of the National Waterways Conference; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Blake Roderick is currently the vice-chairman of | ||||||
| 7 | the Mid-America Port Commission, which serves Illinois, Iowa, | ||||||
| 8 | and Missouri; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Blake Roderick is also a commissioner of the | ||||||
| 10 | Mid-America Intermodal Authority Port District; therefore, be | ||||||
| 11 | it

| 12 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 13 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 14 | we congratulate Blake E. Roderick on the occasion of his | ||||||
| 15 | retirement as Executive Director of the Pike-Scott Farm Bureau | ||||||
| 16 | and the Two Rivers Farm Bureau Foundation, thank him for his | ||||||
| 17 | many years of service, and wish him many happy and healthy | ||||||
| 18 | retirement years; and be it further

| 19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 20 | presented to Blake Roderick as a symbol of our esteem and | ||||||
