HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Kevin Woodside on the 
4occasion of being named the 2022 Gurnee Days Honoree; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Each year, the Gurnee Days Honoree is an 
6individual who has demonstrated exceptional service to the 
7Village of Gurnee community; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Kevin Woodside has served as a trustee of the 
9Village of Gurnee since May 2021; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Prior to that, Kevin Woodside served in the 
11Gurnee Police Department for 30 years, retiring as chief in 
12January 2019; he previously held a variety of leadership 
13positions from October 1997 to May 2004 and served as deputy 
14police chief from May 2004 to July 2011, focusing on the 
15development of officers and preparing the department for the 
16future; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Kevin Woodside formerly served as the community 
18service officer for the Village of Mount Prospect from 1983 to 
191988; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Kevin Woodside has also contributed his time and

1resources by serving on the boards of the Gurnee Exchange 
2Club, PADS Lake County, and The Chapel Chicagoland; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, In Gurnee, Kevin Woodside and his wife, Cathy, 
4successfully raised  their four children, Mike, Julia, Alex, 
5and Greg; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
7HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
8we congratulate Kevin Woodside on being named the 2022 Gurnee 
9Days Honoree, and thank him for his dedication and service to 
10the Village of Gurnee; and be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to Kevin Woodside as an expression of our esteem and 
13respect.
