2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Nancy M. | ||||||
4 | Kubalanza, who passed away on May 19, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Nancy Kubalanza was born to Margaret (Pickett) | ||||||
6 | and Roger Johnson in Watertown, New York on October 29, 1941; | ||||||
7 | and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Nancy Kubalanza, in her youngest years, missed | ||||||
9 | her father and grandfather while they served in World War II; | ||||||
10 | she graduated from Watertown High School in 1959, where she | ||||||
11 | was an active student; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Nancy Kubalanza met Walter Kubalanza in 1960, and | ||||||
13 | they married in 1961; they had three children, Marjorie | ||||||
14 | (Christopher) Kubalanza-Fortier, Walter Kubalanza, and Angela | ||||||
15 | (Scott) Wold; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Nancy Kubalanza and Walter later moved their | ||||||
17 | family to Fox Lake; she dedicated her life to her family, | ||||||
18 | always putting them first; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Nancy Kubalanza worked as a school bus driver, so | ||||||
20 | as to send her children to Catholic school; and

1 | WHEREAS, Nancy Kubalanza later became a grandmother to | ||||||
2 | Zachary Rappe, Emma Rappe, and Katelyn Kubalanza; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Nancy Kubalanza served in leadership positions in | ||||||
4 | many organizations over 30 years, including as Republican | ||||||
5 | Precinct Committeeman, the Grant Township Republican Chairman, | ||||||
6 | the State Central Committeewoman for the 8th and 10th | ||||||
7 | Congressional Districts, a delegate at several Illinois | ||||||
8 | Republican Conventions, and the president of the Grant | ||||||
9 | Township Republican Club; she was also the long-time chairman | ||||||
10 | of the Grant Township Republican Club's Lincoln Day Dinner; | ||||||
11 | and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Nancy Kubalanza volunteered constantly; she | ||||||
13 | served as a lioness in the Fox Lake Lions Club and was a | ||||||
14 | long-time member and president of the Fox Lake-Grant Township | ||||||
15 | Area Historical Society; she also led scout troops and was a | ||||||
16 | member of the PTA; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Nancy Kubalanza was a natural born leader, and | ||||||
18 | she was a fiercely dedicated mother and grandmother; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Nancy Kubalanza was preceded in death by her | ||||||
20 | parents and her grandparents; and

1 | WHEREAS, Nancy Kubalanza is survived by her husband; her | ||||||
2 | children; her grandchildren; her siblings, Trudy Corbett, | ||||||
3 | Cliff (Sue) Lashway, John Johnson, and Virginia Johnson; and | ||||||
4 | her many cousins, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it
| ||||||
5 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
6 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
7 | we mourn the passing of Nancy M. Kubalanza and extend our | ||||||
8 | sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||
9 | and loved her; and be it further
| ||||||
10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
| ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Nancy Kubalanza as an expression of
| ||||||
12 | our deepest sympathy.
