|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate John R. Langton, Ed.S. on |
4 | | the occasion of his retirement as superintendent of Addison |
5 | | School District 4; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, John Langton has served as superintendent of |
7 | | Addison School District 4 since 2009; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, John Langton previously served Addison School |
9 | | District 4 as an assistant superintendent from 2003 to 2009, a |
10 | | middle school principal from 2002 to 2003, and an elementary |
11 | | school principal from 1996 to 2002; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Prior to serving Addison School District 4, John |
13 | | Langton was a middle school assistant principal at Community |
14 | | Consolidated School District 93 from 1994 to 1996; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, John Langton began his 34-year career in |
16 | | education as an elementary and middle school teacher at |
17 | | Community Consolidated School District 21, where he taught |
18 | | from 1988 to 1994; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, John Langton received the Dr. Scott J. Helton |
20 | | Excellence in Educational Leadership Award from the DuPage |

1 | | Division of the Illinois Association of School Administrators |
2 | | (IASA) for demonstrating humility, gratitude, allyship, |
3 | | positivity, and advocacy and being a mentor and a relationship |
4 | | builder; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, John Langton has been noted for his leadership, |
6 | | friendship, spirit, teamwork, and commitment to the Addison |
7 | | school community; he has made a positive impact on the lives of |
8 | | countless students and encouraged educators to always make |
9 | | decisions by putting children first; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, John Langton has expressed looking forward to |
11 | | traveling, taking care of himself and his family, and driving |
12 | | fast cars in retirement; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, John Langton will retire in June 2022; therefore, |
14 | | be it
|
15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
16 | | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
17 | | we congratulate John R. Langton, Ed.S. on his retirement from |
18 | | Addison School District 4, thank him for his service to the |
19 | | Addison school community, and wish him the best in his future |
20 | | endeavors; and be it further
