HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The pro-life group Progressive Anti-Abortion
3Uprising found the bodies of 115 babies who were allegedly
4illegally aborted; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Five of the bodies are in the custody of the
6Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department; and
 
7    WHEREAS, The bodies of the aborted babies appear to be
8fully developed and appear to be the victims of partial-birth
9abortion and potentially even post-birth abortion; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Partial-birth abortion is illegal in the United
11States; and
 
12    WHEREAS, The Surgi-Center in Washington D.C. advertises on
13its website that it performs abortions as late as 27 weeks; and
 
14    WHEREAS, A baby can survive outside the womb at as early as
1522 weeks of pregnancy; and
 
16    WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Police Department and the U.S.
17Department of Justice have refused to perform autopsies on the
18babies; and

1    WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Police Department has made
2reference to the bodies of five dead fully formed infants as
3"items"; and
 
4    WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Police Department under the
5direction of Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser appears more
6interested in investigating the pro-life activists who found
7the bodies than the possible illegal activity at the
8Surgi-Center; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
10HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11we urge Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Attorney
12General Merrick Garland to investigate possible criminal
13activity at the Surgi-Center abortion mill, urge that the
14investigation include proper autopsies to find out how these
15children died, and urge that this investigation be conducted
16in the same manner as any other homicide investigation would
17be conducted; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
19delivered to Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, Attorney
20General Merrick Garland, all Illinois constitutional officers,
21the Speaker and Minority Leader of the Illinois House of
22Representatives, and the President and Minority Leader of the
23Illinois Senate.
