HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives of the 102nd General Assembly recognize and 
4appreciate the contributions of the hardworking men and women 
5of the Illinois Oil and Gas Association, its esteemed board of 
6directors, and its associated affiliates; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Illinois Oil and Gas Association has awarded 
8special recognition for outstanding achievement to Brad Gesell 
9and to Gesell's Pump Sales & Service, Inc.; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Brad Gesell was born in Vandalia on January 4, 
111960 to an oil family from the Farina and Kinmundy areas; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Brad Gesell is a 1978 graduate of Benton High 
13School and a 1980 graduate of Rend Lake College; and
 
14    WHEREAS, After graduation, Brad Gesell started his own 
15company with his father, brother, and sister to service wells 
16and buy production; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Gesell's Pump Sales & Service, Inc. has now grown 
18to operate over 250 wells in Franklin and Jefferson Counties, 
19employing 25 hardworking people; and

1    WHEREAS, Gesell's Pump Sales & Service, Inc. is a vital 
2contributor to the local economy, operating for 42 years and 
3building a reputation for its service, expertise, and 
4integrity; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Gesell's Pump Sales & Service, Inc. was awarded 
6the prestigious Wildcatter of the Year Award by the Illinois 
7Oil and Gas Association in 2006 and again in 2021; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Brad Gesell of Gesell's Pump Sales & Service, 
9Inc. was the 2022 recipient of the Illinois Oil and Gas 
10Association's Lifetime Achievement Award; therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
12HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
13we recognize Brad Gesell, the Gesell family, and the employees 
14of Gesell Pump Sales & Service, Inc. on their decades of 
15service and contributions to the Illinois oil and gas 
16industry; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That we  congratulate Gesell's Pump Sales & 
18Service, Inc. on winning the Wildcatter of the Year Award  in 
192021; and be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That we congratulate Brad Gesell on receiving 
21the 2022 Illinois Oil and Gas Association's Lifetime

2    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
3presented to Brad Gesell of Gesell's Pump Sales & Service,
