HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Martha
4Louise Watt of Peoria, who passed away on March 5, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Martha Watt was born to Paul and Ruby Elouise
6Long Heavner in Golden, Mississippi on November 24, 1951; she
7attended school in Hammond, Indiana and college at Tennessee
8Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennessee; she married Joey
9Watt in Schereville, Indiana on August 16, 1975; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Martha Watt committed to her faith as a teenager
11and later served as a Christian school teacher, a home school
12teacher, and a foster parent; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Alongside her husband, Martha Watt served in the
14ministry at Wayside Baptist Church of Graysville, Tennessee,
15Liberty Baptist Church of Rochester, Indiana, and for the past
1636 years at El Vista Baptist Church in Peoria; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Martha Watt was preceded in death by her
18brothers, James and Robert Heavner, and her parents; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Martha Watt is survived by her six children,
20Benjamin (Kristina) Watt, Philip (Erin) Watt, Sarah Watt,

1Enoch (Dana) Watt, Adam (Lis) Watt, and Hannah (Justin) Derry;
2her nine grandchildren, Grace, Isaac, Luke, Jeremiah, Eliza,
3Annabelle, Piper, Jake, and Jada; her siblings, Tony (Wendy)
4Heavner, John (Maureen) Heavner, Mike (Sharon) Heavner, Margie
5(Bob) Jackson, Joe (Debi) Heavner, Enoch (Diana) Heavner, and
6Eddie (Dawn) Heavner; her sister-in-law, Sandy Heavner; her
7aunts and uncles; her cousins; and her El Vista Baptist Church
8family; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
10HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11we mourn the passing of Martha Louise Watt and extend our
12sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew
13and loved her; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Martha Watt as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
