2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of |
4 | | Firefighter/EMT MaShawn Plummer of the Chicago Fire |
5 | | Department, who passed away from injuries sustained in the |
6 | | line of duty on December 21, 2021; and

7 | | WHEREAS, Firefighter/EMT Plummer was born to Felicia |
8 | | Townsend Plummer and Jermaine Plummer on June 21, 1991; he was |
9 | | raised in Englewood; he studied at Chicago Public Schools |
10 | | before attending Hales Franciscan High School and then |
11 | | Eisenhower High School; he graduated from Quincy University, |
12 | | where he played football; and

13 | | WHEREAS, Firefighter/EMT Plummer worked for UPS and C.H. |
14 | | Robinson before joining the Chicago Fire Department; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Firefighter/EMT Plummer joined the Chicago Fire |
16 | | Department on December 1, 2020, and he was assigned to Engine |
17 | | 94 firehouse at 5758 West Grace Street in the Portage Park |
18 | | neighborhood; he was known as a friendly presence at the |
19 | | station; he was dedicated to his job, going to the Black Fire |
20 | | Brigade for tutoring every Sunday; he was proud to be a |
21 | | firefighter and had aspirations to climb the ranks to chief |
22 | | one day; he had recently celebrated his one-year anniversary |
