2 | | WHEREAS, Reducing our carbon footprint is a priority for

3 | | the people of Illinois; the need to reduce the use of fossil
|
4 | | fuels is an ever-increasing reality and is an achievable goal, |
5 | | not only for the citizens of Illinois
today but also for the |
6 | | generations going forward; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Solar and wind are viable sources that can make
|
8 | | the goal possible; however, Illinois should also focus on
what |
9 | | can be done with our present infrastructure to achieve
the |
10 | | goal of a zero-carbon footprint and to ensure that new
|
11 | | technology savings are optimized; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Upgrading and insulating mechanical systems is a
|
13 | | long-term cost savings system used in construction and is an
|
14 | | often-overlooked way to greatly reduce the carbon emissions
|
15 | | from projects; and |
16 | | WHEREAS, Mechanical insulation helps the system to perform
|
17 | | its function of heating or cooling using as little energy
as |
18 | | necessary; more insulation on the mechanical system means
less |
19 | | energy is needed for the system to perform at its optimal
|
20 | | functions; therefore, be it
|
21 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
