HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Deputy Fire Chief Todd 
4Turner on his retirement on July 30, 2021 after over 40 years 
5of faithful service with the Sycamore Fire Department; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Deputy Fire Chief Turner started fighting fires 
7as a part-time firefighter in 1980, over four decades ago; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Deputy Fire Chief Turner received a full-time 
9appointment to the Sycamore Fire Department after earning his 
10fire officer certification and emergency medical technician 
11license; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Deputy Fire Chief Turner continued to earn 
13further fire officer certifications and emergency medical 
14technician training to the level of paramedic; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Deputy Fire Chief Turner served as a fire 
16lieutenant, an assistant fire chief, and a deputy fire chief 
17during his career; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Deputy Fire Chief Turner and his wife Melissa 
19have two children, Sari and Jacob, who are both career 
20firefighters like their father; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we congratulate Deputy Fire Chief Todd Turner and his family 
4on his retirement and thank him for his over 40 years of 
5service and dedication to the City of Sycamore and the State of 
6Illinois; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copies of this resolution be 
8presented to Deputy Fire Chief Turner and the Sycamore Fire 
9Department as an expression of our esteem and respect.
