HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Timothy B. Kilrea Ed.D. 
4on the occasion of his retirement as Superintendent of Lyons 
5Township High School District 204; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Dr. Kilrea has served for more than 35 years in 
7education; he began his career as a history teacher and served 
8in Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 as assistant 
9dean of students, department chair, coordinator of 
10deans/director of student activities, and associate principal 
11for Curriculum and Instruction; he also served as an assistant 
12superintendent at Thornton Fractional Township High School 
13District 215 and as principal at Thornton Fractional South 
14High School; and
 
15    WHEREAS, During his tenure as Superintendent of District 
16204, Dr. Kilrea oversaw initiatives in many areas, including 
17facilities, technology, and curriculum; he maintained strong 
18and collaborative relationships with the superintendents of 
19the district's associate schools and has been a fervent 
20advocate for efficiencies and the streamlining of educational 
21services and programming for tax payers in the district; and
  
 
  
22    WHEREAS, Dr. Kilrea is a member of the La Grange Area

1Department of Special Education Directing Board, the Illinois 
2Association of School Administrators Board of Directors, and 
3the DuPage Area Occupational Education System Board of 
4Directors; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Kilrea holds a bachelor's degree in Secondary 
6Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 
7a master's degree in Educational Administration from 
8Governor's State University, and a doctorate in Educational 
9Administration from Illinois State University; therefore, be 
10it
  
 
  
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
12HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
13we congratulate Timothy B. Kilrea Ed.D. on his retirement as 
14Superintendent of Lyons Township High School District 204, 
15commend him for his contributions to the education of our 
16youth, and wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and 
17be it further
  
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
19presented to Dr. Kilrea as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
