| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Michael |
| 4 | | Thomas Foley of Collinsville, who passed away on February 4, |
| 5 | | 2021; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Michael Foley was born in East St. Louis on July |
| 7 | | 23, 1957; he graduated from Collinsville High School in 1975; |
| 8 | | and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Michael Foley was an inspector at Fairmount Park |
| 10 | | for the State of Illinois, and he was a member of the ASFCME |
| 11 | | Local 1805 until his retirement; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Michael Foley was a proud lifelong Collinsville |
| 13 | | Kahok, and he dedicated many years in service to his hometown; |
| 14 | | he was a lifetime member of the Collinsville Jaycees, where he |
| 15 | | served as Senator #41253; he served as a trustee of the |
| 16 | | Collinsville Township since 2005 and a committeeman of the |
| 17 | | Collinsville Township Democratic Precinct since 2000; he |
| 18 | | previously served as a past member of the Collinsville CUSD |
| 19 | | #10 School Board from 1995 to 2003, a former play-by-play |
| 20 | | announcer for the Collinsville High School boys basketball |
| 21 | | team's Holiday Classic Tournament, and a coach for the |
| 22 | | Collinsville Raiders football team; and
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Michael Foley will be forever missed by his |
| 2 | | friends and family; and
|
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Michael Foley was preceded in death by his |
| 4 | | father, James C. Foley; his mother, Norma Mary (Sperino) |
| 5 | | Foley; and his cousin, Norma (Leisen) Renth; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Michael Foley is survived by his siblings, Ronald |
| 7 | | (Diane Rizzo) Foley, Elizabeth (Kenneth) Bunetic, and Jeri |
| 8 | | (John Honness) Foley; his cousin-in-law, Virgil Renth; his |
| 9 | | nieces and nephews, Julie (Jake) Preston, Andrew (Jenna) |
| 10 | | Foley, Diane (James) Foley-Wienstroer, and Jessica (Michael |
| 11 | | Treece Jr.) Honness; his grandnieces and grandnephews, Tyler |
| 12 | | Murphy, Briley Bruninga, Teagan Foley, and Sloane Foley; his |
| 13 | | cousins, Deborah Renth and Shelly Gerstner; and his many other |
| 14 | | family members and special friends, including Mary Francis, Al |
| 15 | | Woolen, and Terry "Bones" Allan, among others; therefore, be |

| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 18 | | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 19 | | we mourn the passing of Michael Thomas Foley and extend our |
| 20 | | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew |
