| 2 | | WHEREAS, Pat Clark is a long-time resident of Independence |
| 3 | | Park who continually dedicates her time towards making the |
| 4 | | Independence Park neighborhood a great place to call home; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Pat Clark has faithfully served on the board of |
| 6 | | the Greater Independence Park Neighborhood Association (GIPNA) |
| 7 | | since its inception more than 25 years ago; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Pat Clark initiated the farmers market in |
| 9 | | Independence Park almost 20 years ago and ran it |
| 10 | | single-handedly for 12 years; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Pat Clark serves on the editorial staff of the |
| 12 | | GIPNA newsletter; she is also responsible for printing, |
| 13 | | selling ad space, and distributing the newsletter throughout |
| 14 | | the neighborhood; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Pat Clark was instrumental in obtaining official |
| 16 | | designation of the neighborhood garden located at the end of |
| 17 | | Monticello Avenue by the Kennedy Expressway; with the help of |
| 18 | | other volunteers, she also tirelessly maintains its beautiful |
| 19 | | condition; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Pat Clark routinely cleans up trash from the |

| 1 | | cul-de-sac at the end of Central Park and off the north bound |
| 2 | | ramp at Addison to the Kennedy Expressway; and
|
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Pat Clark does not do these things for her |
| 4 | | community out of duty, obligation, or for recognition; she |
| 5 | | does these things because they need to be done and she feels |
| 6 | | she is able to do them; she is known for going beyond what |
| 7 | | anyone expects or asks of her; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Pat Clark resides in Independence Park with her |
| 9 | | husband, George; therefore, be it
|
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 11 | | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 12 | | we declare November 6, 2021 as Pat Clark Community Service Day |
| 13 | | in the State of Illinois; and be it further
|
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That on this day we urge citizens to emulate Pat |
| 15 | | Clark's acts of kindness by caring for their respective |
| 16 | | neighborhoods, including picking up trash, checking on |
| 17 | | neighbors, volunteering for a neighborhood program, and |
| 18 | | performing other acts that would benefit their communities; |
| 19 | | and be it further
|
| 20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 21 | | presented to Pat Clark with our sincere appreciation for her |
