HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The State of Illinois needs a reasonable,
3deliberate, and measured plan for administering vaccinations
4for COVID-19; and
 
5    WHEREAS, It is essential that vaccinations be administered
6fairly in each county in the State, under the same guidelines,
7and equitable to each region and population in the State; and
 
8    WHEREAS, According to the Centers for Disease Control and
9Prevention (CDC), nationwide, as of January 26, 2021, 5.8% of
10the population has received 1 out of the 2 doses necessary for
11full protection from COVID-19; 1% of the population has
12received 2 out of the 2 doses necessary for full protection
13from COVID-19; 41,418,325 doses of the vaccine have been
14distributed, and 22,734,243 vaccinations have been given; and
 
15    WHEREAS, According to the CDC, in Illinois as of January
1626, 2021, 4.6% of the population has received 1 out of the 2
17doses necessary for full protection from COVID-19; 1.1% of the
18population has received 2 out of the 2 doses necessary for full
19protection from COVID-19; 1,417,250 doses of the vaccine have
20been distributed, and 723,203 vaccinations have been given;

1    WHEREAS, According to the Illinois Department of Public
2Health, in Illinois as of January 26, 2021, 550,050 doses of
3COVID-19 vaccine have been allocated to long-term care
4facilities, and 110,403 doses have been administered in
5long-term care facilities; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
7HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8the current state of the vaccination program is not
9satisfactory; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That we urge the vaccination plan be made fully
11transparent and readily accessible to the public; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
14delivered to all Illinois constitutional officers, the
15Director of the Illinois Department of Public Health, the
16Director of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, the
17Speaker and Minority Leader of the Illinois House of
18Representatives, and the President and Minority Leader of the
19Illinois Senate.
