Proposes to amend the Legislature Article of the Illinois Constitution. Prohibits a person from holding the office of State Senator or State Representative, or a combination of those offices, for more than 10 years. Effective upon being declared adopted.

5 | | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that there shall be submitted to the |
6 | | electors of the State for adoption or rejection at the general |
7 | | election next occurring at least 6 months after the adoption |
8 | | of this resolution a proposition to amend the Illinois |
9 | | Constitution by adding Section 2.5 to Article IV as follows:

13 | | SECTION 2.5. TERM LIMITS |
14 | | No person may hold the office of State Senator or State |
15 | | Representative, or a combination of those offices, for more |
16 | | than 10 consecutive years.

18 | | This Constitutional Amendment takes effect upon being |
19 | | declared adopted in
accordance with Section 7 of the Illinois |
20 | | Constitutional Amendment Act.
