| 4 | | "Section 92. The Counties Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 3-9014 as follows:

| 6 | | (55 ILCS 5/3-9014 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 3-9014. Notification of United States Attorney; death |
| 8 | | of a child. |
| 9 | | (a) If a State's Attorney becomes aware of a murder of a |
| 10 | | child 13 years of age or younger that may be prosecutable under |
| 11 | | federal law, the State's Attorney shall notify the applicable |
| 12 | | United States Attorney. |
| 13 | | (b) Each State's Attorney shall develop a written policy |
| 14 | | for his or her office relating to the factors necessary and |
| 15 | | process for the State's Attorney to notify a United States |
| 16 | | Attorney under subsection (a).".
